There is no New England disc jockey who can surpass the infinite musical knowledge beholden to Carter Alan, who has been rockin' Boston since 1979.
Carter's intro began at M.I.T.'s radio station, followed by a 19 year post at WBCN. In 1998, he took the reigns at 'ZLX. From on-air to compiling the Rock 'n' Roll Diary and producing WZLX's first charity CD “From the Vaults", Carter does it all!
He's also written three books: Outside Is America and The Road to Pop (both about U2) and Life on the Road: The Adventures of Dinky Dawson.

1. What are your favorite movies or TV shows?
Absolutely love Zoolander (“…merman…a Merman…") and Galaxy Quest (cuz I love Star Trek!)
2. ) If you were stranded on a desert island, what five classic rock albums would you bring with you?
Who – Live at Leeds, U2 – Achtung Baby, Beatles – Abbey Road, Neil Young – Tonight’s the Night, Allman Brothers At Fillmore East.
3. What’s your most memorable concert experience?
U2 at the Paradise Theater on December 13th, 1980 – the unknown band from Ireland first visits Boston!
4. What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you while you were on the air?
Silence.
5. What was your first job in radio?
Filling in for the full timers on WKXL-AM/FM (“The voice of the Capitol!") Concord, NH
6. Tell us something that no one knows about you.
I'm still working out - trying to get that Joe Perry washboard stomach.
